Mr. Deming has a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering for San Jose State University, and an associates of arts from De Anza Collage. He has been involved in the rail industry since 1988 and has worked as a laborer, machine operator, inspector, flagman, foreman and manager on the Caltrain right-of-way. He also worked for the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Agency (VTA) for over a decade on the Silicon Valley Berryessa Extension (SVBX), and many other VTA projects. He has experience with track and construction inspection, track design, track construction, railroad bridge inspection, construction management, CAD work, quality control, Railroad Worker Protection (RWP), traction power and overhead catenary systems (OCS) installations, corridor assessments, hazardous materials, preferred route identification, rail traffic coordination, and management of track maintenance.
